Staff Bio’s


David MacBurnie, USPTA

Founder of NETRESULTS Tennis, MacBurnie has been directing high end tennis operations beginning in 1982 at the Florida Yacht Club (Jacksonville, FL), in 1990 the Pompano Beach Tennis Center, voted USTA Municipal Facility of the Year (Pompano Beach, FL), 1995 the Wachesaw Plantation Club (Murrells Inlet, SC) and in 1999 the Wightman Tennis Center (Weston, MA). In 2002 he began NETRESULTS and consulted with the Tennis Camps of Harvard to revamp their curriculum and to inject a new dynamic style of instruction as our first client. NETRESULTS client list consists of; The Eastern Yacht Club (Marblehead, MA), Weston Recreation (Weston, MA), Chicago Club of Charlevoix (Charlevoix, MI), Brookline Recreation (Brookline, MA), Suffolk Recreation (Suffolk, VA) and our newest partner, the town of Palm Beach, FL (Seaview Park TC / Phipps Ocean Park TC). He is a certified USPTA Professional 1 since 1986, a USA Tennis High Performance Coach and former top 10 nationally ranked player. MacBurnie played collegiate tennis for Rollins College (Winter Park, FL) winning All Sunshine State Conference honors twice. MacBurnie also was a USTA National Intersectional Team Champion (Florida) and ranked #1 in SC Men’s 30 Singles in “97″ & “98″. In 2007 and 2009, David was a member of the winning Men’s 45 Atlantic Coast Cup Team as well as the International Friendship Cup winning team representing New England.

Jeremy Fehrs (Staff Pro)

It never hurts to have great tennis lineage…Jeremy has just that. Son of a former world class player and of a teaching professional, Jeremy has been around the tennis block for his young 22 years. A former top 30 Eastern junior, Jeremy played his collegiate tennis @ Lafayette for four seasons. As a rookie with NETRESULTS, he has fit into our instructional team like a glove…the kids are already enjoying his fun and informative instructional style.

Joe Holland, USPTA (Staff Pro)

Joe has become an established teaching professional with the NETRESULTS instructional team, making a positive contribution to our teaching style in Brookline. Joe was a top ranked junior player in New England and continued his playing career by relocating to Clearwater, FL to compete on a national level. Joe came back to play #1 singles for Div. I Merrimack College, where he enjoy a significant amount of playing success. Joe has been the Head Teaching Pro for the Tamarac Tennis Camp in Franconia along side World Cup skiing great, Bode Miller. Joe will be a big part of our staff this indoor season and summer and is excited to be a part of the NETRESULTS and is anxious to continue to make an impact in the community of Brookline.

Allen Gowin, USPTA (Staff Pro)

Allen has been a welcomed addition to the NETRESULTS Team since he joined us last spring. As a top 10 junior player in South and North Carolina, he was ranked top 20 sectionally and top 150 nationally. Allen played singles and doubles for three consecutive high school state champions.While pursuing other career interests, Allen has a renewed interest in sharing his training and playing experiences and making a significant contribution to the NETRESULTS efforts in Brookline. Allen has also recently been certified as a USPTA professional.

Carl Briggs, USPTA (Staff Pro)

Carl is a twenty five year member the the USPTA and USPTR and has taught at some of the top clubs in Florida and New England. Carl was the Men’s and Womens Head Coach at U MassBoston and directed the tennis operations at Bailey’s Beach in Newport, RI for 14 years. He received the NE Sr Player of the Year and was ranked #3 nationally by the USPTA. Carl also teaches at the Country Club in Brookline and is a realtor with Wm Raveis Realty in Chesnut Hill. He lives with his wife and 3 year old son in Boston.

Steve Phillips

Steve has been top player his whole career; high school, college and the pro circuit. Steve is a former ATP Tour player and was also one of former world’s #1 Ivan Lendl’s practice partners. He has competed on all surfaces throughout the world and brings a significant amount of experience and expertise to Brookline this summer. Steve currently trains some of the elite players in the US High Performance Program. He is working with the world’s # 75 on the WAT Tour and also trains a top 5 player in the US in the Girls 14’s. We feel confident that Steve will make great contributions to the NETRESULTS program.
