strong>The 2010 Atlantic Coast Cup (Men’s 45’s) was played this year indoors at the Morrisville Racquet Club in Morristown, PA in late May. The New England team who were defending champions started the weekend off against the host Middle States. #1 David MacBurnie won his singles match in a 3 hour marathon victory, 6-2 in the 3rd set. The Middle States came back and swept #2-4 in singles and eked out a 4-3 victory. NE then crushed the Mid Atlantic States 6-1 with MacBurnie setting the tone at #1 singles with a straight set victory. After the first day of competition the NE team along with the Middle States and Eastern States all were tied for first place. The last day of competition pitted Team NE vs. their rivals from the Eastern team. All 7 matches were closely fought, MacBurnie knocking off former top ITF (world ranked) player Alex Diaz in a close 7-5, 7-6 match at #1 singles. NE swept 2 of the 3 remaining
