BROOKLINE TENNIS PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Junior Program consists of a Developmental and High Performance Programs for the Brookline community. The philosophy of the instructional style is fast paced, high cardio and a games based approach that adds excitement and enjoyment for the kids as they learn through a progression of drills and games specific for each of our levels of play. NETRESULTS and it’s top flight instructional team directed by David MacBurnie, will provide high quality instruction, loads of energy and an environment for the kids to realize and attain their potential.

Developmental

  • Young Stars: (Ages 4-6) Entry level beginners, just starting to develop hand eye skills, loads of fun
  • Futures: (Ages 7-10) Advanced beginners, juniors that have begun instruction but not yet playing
  • ATP II: (Ages 13-16) Intermediate level, juniors with lesson experience just starting to play matches

High Performance

  • ATP I: (Ages 10-12) Intermediate level, jrs with lesson experience just starting to play matches
  • ATP III: (Ages 12-16) Advanced beginners, juniors that have begun instruction but not yet begun play

Power Hours are a high energy class that includes cardio, stroke development and situational tennis for each specific level of play. The focus of our instructional philosophy is our games based approach that makes the learning situational and more fun. The program is also a great way to meet new players of your ability level.

  • Power Hour Beginners: Adults that have had minimal or no prior experience playing
  • Power Hour Advanced Beginners: Adults that have had lessons prior but not yet playing matches
  • Power Hour Intermediate: Adults that are current or former players that have match experience

USTA Championships (2009 results)

Atlantic Coast Cup Championships
USTA ATLANTIC COAST CUP
Team New England Champs

The Atlantic Coast Cup Championships were recently completed in Connecticut early this month. The USTA national team competition is made up of the top Men’s 45 players in New England States, Eastern States, Mid Atlantic States and the Middle States vying for the coveted championship.

Team New England won back the title they won in 2007 with an upset victory over the powerhouse Mid Atlantic states. David MacBurnie secured the victory with the deciding match over a former top 5 national player in straight sets. The New England team went on to beat the Middle States and a resounding victory over their main rivals, the Eastern States 6-1.The NE win secured their 3rd title in the last 5 years for the NE team.

NE-Sectional-Champs

USTA NEW ENGLAND Men’s 50 Sectional Championships

David MacBurnie recently won the Men’s 50 New England Sectional Singles championship held at the Concord Country Club in August. MacBurnie seeded 1st, defeated former US #1 Phil Kadesch in the semi finals and then bested #2 Wade Frame in the finals.
